Fairytale Bones and more of Michelles Musings, is the second collection of poetry from Michelle Schaper, featuring a repository of ‘Facebook favourites’, as Michelle’s social media followers have often expressed interest for a follow up to ‘Soul Kissing, a collection of playful poetry and prose.’
Michelle uses an assortment of iambic verse, simple metaphors, similes and non rhyming poems to take readers on a journey to the beauty inside us all, with a glimpse of fairytale notions.

Although Michelle frequents writing of a third person, ‘She’, her poetic expressions are aimed to inspire all to see the art in human strength and resilience.

I have known Ms Schaper for over a year now, after following her posts on social media. I read and enjoyed her first book of poems, and recently received her second book. It it just as enjoyable to me as he first volume. The production quality is higher, with full-color pages throughout. The parchment-like or scroll-like pages immediately brings to mind in me my own background in fantasy of many years of role-playing games (such as Dungeons and Dragons), and I expect other role-players would have a similar vibe from the book. This volume does lean more towards the fantastic, to delightful effect. As a middle-aged person, I often turn to poetry (both reading it and writing it) for escape from the cares of everyday life. Ms Schaper mixes humor, sadness, a hint of the erotic, and other themes, to pull the reader into a pleasant place, where the drudgery and disappointments of everyday life can be sequestered away for awhile. I recommend this without reservation to all fans of poetry.

Michelle Schaper is without a doubt my favourite author and her poetry is absolutely incredible. I don’t think her mind ever sleeps and she has this magical way of spinning words into poetic gold. Fairytale Bones is a book I read in a very short amount of time. Her first book Soul Kissing is such a beautiful book, Fairytale Bones is next level, I absolutely love it.
