The Aussie Functioning Alcoholic

Although an alcoholic at 20 years old, after 2 traumatic vehicle accidents, I managed to complete an apprenticeship and become a tradesman by 21. A functioning alcoholic I was and I wasn’t alone, many people go through life just like I did. I had a partner and worked and travelled Australia, having some great adventures, with some of them within this book, Tasmania, CapeYork Queensland, Darwin and others.

After going through 2 separations and on my own with 40 years of beer drinking daily, taking its toll on my unhealthy body, I decided to stop and see what life without this poison called alcohol was like. It wasn’t easy after most of my life drinking to excess daily and I explain the withdrawals and all other obstacles to getting my life back again. If you want to stop drinking, I really hope this book can help as I was a chronic alcoholic and here I am writing a book, something I wouldn’t even fathom a couple of years ago.

If anything, I hope my colorful language doesn’t offend and some of my experiences along my functioning alcoholic life, give some insights into this lifestyle and the stories of different parts of this great country, some interesting reading.
